Final Post

Web 2.0.Library Users can learn to to collabrate and use library resourses easily. Having learnt how to use the new tools and technologies, I can help library users to use Web 2.0 technologies where and when applicable. We can activate people in the community to try out these internet new technologies and tools thereby saving time, sharing knowledge.

Week 6 : EncompassCulture

Visited EncompassCulture. Learnt about the site which is very easy to use; very neat and immaculate.Searched in Travel for Adults , selected Humorous Travels. Clicked go (Compass). Wow! found 81 matches to read or write reviews. Price and where to purchase or find the book anywhere in the world. Another social netwoking where you can chat and share your reading interest. Site is suitable for all users. Would be an easy site to promote.

Week 5 : SlideShare

Get a free SlideShare Account before you can watch a presentation.Libraries can embed slideshows into their blog or website. Events to promote on slideshare. Customers in business and profession are using such site to improve their businesses and work. Learn-net customers may be interested to browse.Libraries have a lot to learn and share from such site. Viewed: What is Library2.0? Beautiful libraries in the World-65 pictures of great architectural type. New Technologies that Save Time and Money has a list of new tools you can use.

Week 4 : TasteSpotting



TasteSpotting is a visual potluck, can be browsed by date, category, popularity, random or just a search.
I did a search for onion pancakes (pan-fried bread)which I have tasted before and found 8 posts.
I can easily opt for the easiest to follow recipe with just a click, Images are yum yummy.
Could direct customers to use the site: Recipes with great pictures.
Easy to register.

Week 3 : FeedMy In Box

Created an auto- confirm account with FeedMyInBox which was quick and easy.
Subscribed to Wellington City Libraries on the the Library Business Post:

This saves time with updates and update alerts are sent to my email each day.
Great for library staff to use them. Not sure about promoting to Learn-net users as on the selected plan only 5 feeds are free.

Week 2 : Picapp

Picapp is free and legal and easy to use. Search, copy and paste.
Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) collected for aquarium trade await transport in a warehouse in Manila, Philippines; there is  great mortality among all animals collected.

I chose an aquarium as one looking into a tank of fishes create a sense of relaxation in that peaceful world.
Libraries could use images to make the blogs look beautiful, interesting and exciting.
Young customers will have fun using Picapp for their blogs.
There are millions of images to choose from.
I prefer to use the creative search.

Week 1 : Box.net

It is very easy to sign up on Box.net a lite account. Create a folder upload your files, invite collaboraters by using e-mail addresses. Box.net can create, store and share documents as a link on folder with anyone and work on it anywhere on any device making sharing simple. You can allow other people to edit the document. A site to promote to customers, an e-mail address is required. No memory stick to loose.
